With recent price increases found across Walt Disney World, we were shocked that this Individual Lightning Lane actually costs LESS than in previous weeks. Friday may be the best day to visit this park.
Price Increases
This week we have seen BIG price increases throughout the Disney Parks. We have seen higher price tags for several experiences including:
- Star Wars souvenir
- Genie+ at Disneyland
- Custom light sabers
- Variable pricing on Genie+ at Disney World
- Theme Park tickets
- Food and drinks
- Character Meals
- Refillable mugs
- Ear Headbands
This week, we saw the first wave of Disney Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane variable price increases at Walt Disney World. Based upon the higher price of so many experiences and products, we were shocked that one attraction is now offered for less than in previous weeks.
Individual Lightning Lane
In October 2021, Walt Disney World unveiled the Disney Genie. This provides guests with a free tip board. Disney Genie+ is a one-day fee add-on where you can access even more attractions with shorter wait times. Each day guests pay to use Genie+.
Finally, the third option is Individual Lightning Lane where guests can purchase return times for select attractions. Each park at Walt Disney World offers one attraction where guests can skip the line for a varying price. This week we were shocked when Rise of the Resistance hit an all-time high for three days in a row.
Best Day to Visit EPCOT
Over at EPCOT, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind first welcomed guests on May 27, 2022. Cosmic Rewind offers both a virtual queue and an Individual Lightning Lane option. In June we shared that the Individual Lightning Lane price is $14/person Monday through Thursday. The price increases to $17/per person from Friday through Sunday. Not counting holidays, it appears that the most expensive day to visit EPCOT is on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
This morning we were shocked that on a Friday the price for an Individual Lightning Lane for Cosmic Rewind now costs $2 less than previously. This week has been a busy one at Walt Disney World, so we are quite surprised that guests can now enjoy this attraction for $15 rather than the $17 as has been the trend for several months.
Previously we shared the best days to visit EPCOT to enjoy Cosmic Rewind, and Friday was definitely not one of the ideal days. Although we welcome this reduced price, it is hard to determine the reasoning behind it. One possible cause may be due to higher ticket pricing on the weekends and later park hours during the week.
