After a large round of price increases, we are pretty shocked to hear that Disney is reportedly planning to let a large group of Disney Park Cast Members go.

The "Disney Difference"

Without the great cast members, you could argue that Disney Parks would be just another amusement park. However, the cast members are what make the difference for guests, whether they are relaxing in their hotel lobby or climbing aboard an attraction.

At most theme parks, the employees do not become part of the story or enhance the storytelling. At Disney Parks, they do!

Many Disney fans call this affectionately the "Disney Difference." Even with the large price increases for so many Disney Park experiences, many Disney fans are willing to pay more for the full magical Disney experience.

The Walt Disney Company is reportedly eliminating several key positions. Last week, news broke that 100 positions would be eliminated at Disney Imagineering. This led many Disney fans to fear that many of the big expansions that were promised may be compromised due to these layoffs.

However, the job layoffs do not end there. Bloomberg reports that the Walt Disney Company reportedly looks to eliminate THOUSANDS of positions. Managers are also asked to cut 20% of annual costs.

Job layoffs are expected to affect Disney Parks, the TV network, and movie studios. Josh D'Amaro will use these savings to invest in TV programming, Disney Parks, the Disney Cruise Line, and technology.

Many Disney fans feel that the box office failures of the past several years send ripples throughout the Walt Disney Company. Many still miss the "Disney Experience" that was greatly changed in 2020.

The Walt Disney Company used the Theme Park closure to change many entertainment offerings. Massive layoffs affected many, and some of our favorite streetmoshere performers were removed from the parks.

The Walt Disney Company aims to eliminate thousands of job positions.

We are sad to hear that many Cast Members will be affected by these layoffs so close to the holidays. This also leads many of us to wonder how this may affect the overall Disney Park experience.
