First example of new pricing for Genie+

Today, Disney begins charging more for Genie+ at Disney World. Take a look here to see how much it will set you back.

Price Increases

If you’re on vacation this week at Disney, you’ve probably gotten surprised by more than one price increase. Disney World is expensive, there is no sugar coating that. Yesterday, we reported price increases for the following:

We’re really hoping that’s the end of price increases – at least for a while.

In October 2021, Walt Disney World unveiled the Disney Genie. This provides guests with a free tip board.  Disney Genie+ is a one-day fee add-on where you can access even more attractions with shorter wait times. Each day guests pay to use Genie+.

Finally, the third option is Individual Lightning Lane where guests can purchase return times for select attractions. You can choose to use the standby line instead of purchasing Genie+. In doing so, Disney is not forcing anyone to pay for this feature.

You can make one selection at a time all throughout the day. 40+ attractions are included at Walt Disney World and 15+ attractions will be available at Disneyland. Be sure to read all about Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lanes in our guide.

Depending on when you’re visiting Disney World, you may end up paying more for Genie+. Now, prices range from $15 to $22 per person per day plus tax. Pricing is based on how busy Disney predicts crowds will be in the future. Not only that, but we also announced yesterday a price increase for Disneyland’s Genie+ service HERE.

Today is the first day that prices went up. Guests may be surprised to learn that today Genie+ will cost $20 per person plus tax. Considering some people buy Genie+ every day of their trip, this can add up quickly.

Buying Genie+ today will cost you $20 per person plus tax.

What do you think of this price increase? Will this use it on your next Disney trip? Do you enjoy the new Disney Genie+ system? What improvement do you think should be made? Please share your thoughts with us on our Facebook Page.

Disney used to be a good value. Not anymore. I have decided not to renew my annual pass after it expires and spend my money elsewhere. The increases in costs make it difficult, if not impossible, for many people to afford the parks. This makes me angry. If the problem is one of overcrowding, surely there must be other ways to reduce the crowds without making WDW only for those who can afford to pay the price. Sad state of affairs

Genie+ only works for the young and healthy who visit the parks from rope drop to close and can move quickly around the parks. This is a lousy system. Disney just gets less and less magical as time goes on.

We pay more for a lousy system. Staff is great and things happen-the one conctant is that Disney’s computer system SUCKS. We go from having three fast passes reserved months in advance that worked. Now we can only for one at a time, no real options of choice of time unless you want to run frantically from one side of the park to the next. We pay more and get less. It would make one so mad if the system actually worked and let you plan your day. And then-something breaks down and the whole system fails to work. Maybe worth it if it worked to a guests advantage to plan and implement.
