Disney's Polynesian Dining Now Delayed Again

Themed after the South Pacific with sandy beaches, lush vegetation, and tiki torches, Disney's Polynesian is highly sought after by guests. It's like taking a Hawaiian vacation in the middle of Florida with all the Disney perks.

The resort is located on the monorail, directly across the Magic Kingdom on the Seven Seas Lagoon. It is one of the pricier Disney World Resorts because it is categorized as a deluxe resort.

Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace Closed

However, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is undergoing a BIG transformation, and it's a bit of a mess right now.

Trader Sam's is a popular spot for many guests visiting Disney's Polynesian Resort. The most coveted location to visit is located indoors. However, the wait times are quite long.

Many Guests choose to bypass the long line and enjoy the outdoor extension better known as Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace. In April, this outdoor location closed for an extended refurbishment.

Originally, the refurbishment of Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace was estimated to last through late June 2026. This was later extended until September 11, 2026,

Disney has now updated this closure: "Through mid-December, Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace at Disney's Polynesian Resort will be temporarily closed due to refurbishment work at the Great Ceremonial House."

Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace closed in April 2026 and hopes to reopen in mid-December.

The indoor bar, better known as the Trader Sam's Grog Grotto, has remained open even during this closure.
