Safety Concerns Affect EPCOT's Spaceship Earth

EPCOT makes changes to Spaceship Earth due to safety concerns. Check out the new change.

Safety at Disney Parks

Disney Cast Members really are the magic of the Disney Parks. From creating magical experiences to even providing safety and order.

Disney trains Cast Members in the "5 Keys," which help to provide the highest quality of hospitality to all guests.

These include Safety, Courtesy, Inclusion, Show, and Efficiency. Safety is listed first and is vitally important to ensure the safety of all guests and fellow Cast Members. Cast Members do an excellent job addressing safety concerns early on.

Spaceship Earth Entrance Blocked

For several days, Guests have noticed that EPCOT's Spaceship Earth entrance has been blocked. Where Guests would enter, either for the traditional standby queue or for Lightning Lane access, is now blocked, with signs alerting Guests that this is an exit only.

Guests hoping to enjoy the Space Earth attraction must follow the ropes down the right side of the attraction. This adds a few more steps to your day at EPCOT.

Those Guests using the traditional queue are directed to the right, while Lightning Lane Guests are directed to the left.

Spaceship Earth Safety Concern

While Disney has not confirmed, many Guests report that Cast Members state that a water leak is the cause. This leak created a safety concern for Guests, possibly creating a slipping hazard.

The Spaceship Earth entrance has changed due to safety concerns.

For the time being, pack your patience if you hope to "Thank the Phonecians" while at EPCOT. We are thankful that Spaceship Earth still remains open to Guests while Disney Cast Members create additional safety measures for the traditional entrance to this attraction.
