Disney World Issues a Pop-Up Warning for Guests

It is hard to visit Walt Disney World without using Disney's app. After all, it has everything you need to enjoy a magical vacation! From making dining reservations to ordering food, making Lightning Lanes reservations, and checking current wait times.

Like all apps, it receives regular updates to improve the overall guest experience. Sometimes the updates are great and well received, while others either seem to not make much of a difference at all or leave some just plain frustrated.

Walt Disney World will often display pop-up notifications to guests via the My Disney Experience app. This is helpful for communicating ride closures, changes in operations, and important updates.

Today, when we opened the Walt Disney World My Disney Experience app, we received a new notification.

Disney shares, "Pardon the Inconvenience: Merchandise Mobile Checkout is currently unavailable. We're actively working to resolve this issue. WE apologize for any inconvenience."

With many Guests preferring the ease of Mobile Checkout, this will create longer lines than normal for merchandise checkout throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.

Mobile Checkout has two great benefits. First, you could skip long checkout lines. Secondly, all eligible discounts (for example, Annual Pass, Magic Key, or Disney Vacation Club) are automatically applied to your purchase if they are linked to your account.

Over the past few years, Mobile Checkout has expanded to several more retail locations at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

Merchandise Mobile Checkout is currently unavailable at Walt Disney World.

Hopefully, this technical issue will be resolved quickly for Guests visiting Walt Disney World.
