Action Required For Disney World Guests Traveling in July

For a stress-free Disney or Universal Studios vacation, let the FREE expert planners at Royal Carriage Vacations take care of every detail including dining reservations, applying discounts, and onboard cruise credit.

This past Sunday we shared that guests with upcoming resort reservations were delivered an email that required action to either confirm, modify, or cancel their upcoming resort reservation. Disney World is now sending out another email requiring action from Disney resort guests. Continue reading to see how this may affect your upcoming Disney vacation.

Resort Updates

We continue to receive information regarding resort reservations and reopening procedures. These are some of the most recent news articles to help with your Disney planning.

Action Required

In the previous wave of emails, guests who have a resort reservation booked between June 22, 2020 and July 4, 2020 have received an email to either confirm, modify, or cancel their resort reservation. Action is required by June 12, 2020 for these guests.

This new wave of emails targets guests with reservations through July 11, 2020. Action is required by these guests by June 25, 2020.

Guests will need to select one of the following options in regards to their upcoming reservation:

#1: “I’m Still planning on coming”

This is included in the email: Many Disney Resort benefits and amenities may be temporarily unavailable. Select Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground will be open during your travel dates but other Disney Resort hotels will remain closed.

If you have a reservation at a Disney Resort hotel that won’t be open during your travel dates, we can help modify your Disney Resort hotel reservation. And if you have a room and theme park ticket package, we can help modify that too.

#2: “I’m Planning on Modifying My Reservation”

If you have a reservation at a Disney Resort hotel that won’t be open during your travel dates, we can help modify your Disney Resort hotel reservation. And if you have a room and them park ticket package, we can help modify that, too.

Note, due to system update, online modifications are currently unavailable. After choosing this option, we will validate your selection then provide next steps.

#3: “I’m Planning on Cancelling My Reservation”

Please note, additional action will be required to cancel your reservation online. After choosing this option we will validate your selection then provide next steps.

What This Means

Guests with resort reservations from June 22-July 11 may take action by responding to the email sent to them by Walt Disney World or they may contact their Authorized Disney Vacation Planner.

In the initial phased reopening only select hotels will be available. Guests are told that they may be moved from a closed to an open resort. If a resort change is needed due to resort closures, the guest will not be charged additional fees. Along with this, a special resort request is not available as Disney will reassign guests as needed.

Guests that choose to modify to a future date will only be able to book at resorts that will be open at that time and they will be responsible for paying any price difference.

What do you think about this new information regarding modifying reservations and the possibility of being shuffled to other Resorts as needed? Will this affect your upcoming travel plans to Walt Disney World? Share your thoughts with us on our Facebook Page.

I reached out on Disney chat because our stay begins July 11, but I got this response: At this time we are contacting people in the order of their arrival. We are currently contacting guests that will check out by July 11th. Please continue to check your email as we are working to contact guests as soon as possible once decisions are made.
