Disney Skyliner Guests Faced Major Delays Last Night
Last night, Walt Disney World Guests were faced with major delays on Disney's Skyliner. Get the details.
Disney World Transportation
There are many differing opinions on transportation options, largely depending upon which Disney Resort you are staying at and also which Park you will be visiting.
The Walt Disney World Resort is HUGE, and many questions revolve around what the quickest mode of transportation is to arrive at each Park.
Some guests choose their Disney resort based on transportation options, particularly with resorts along the monorail loop and the Disney Skyliner.
Disney Skyliner Delays
Last night, Guests were faced with big delays on Disney's Skyliner. Reddit user Subject9800 reported "The mechanism that transfers gondolas over to the mobility load section broke, so they resorted to the only backup option they have - loading/offloading from the mainline."
Guests experienced long lines because the separate loading zone designated for guests using mobility aids was not operating
Guests reported that buses were eventually brought in to bring Guests to their final destinations. However, many Guests reported that it took over two hours to reach their resorts.
When we visited the Skyliner this morning (see photo above for today's operating hours), Disney's Skyliner is operating and lines were moving. All Skyliner routes are operational this morning, August 19th, 2026.
Recent Delays
Last month, one of our team was visiting, and experienced another major delay on Disney's Skyliner. Fortunately, buses were also brought in and Guests were brought to their destinations. You can read more about this incident HERE.
Keep in mind - Disney's Skyliner will stop operations during inclement weather.
Fortunately, these incidents appear to be rare and most Guests experience no delays in their travels.
