Update: Disney Shares Completion Timeline For Fort Wilderness Pool Expansion

Disney has released information about the Fort Wilderness pool expansion completion timeline. Find out what we know.

Fort Wilderness Construction

A lot of construction is happening in and around The Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground (The Fort). Erosion control is occurring now through February 2026. You can read the details of this work HERE.

The Fort is also finishing up a lobby refurbishment.

Disney Vacation Club (DVC) is also constructing Disney Lakeshore Lodge which is just behind Pioneer Hall. Many Fort campers are skeptical as this new DVC resort is towering over the Clementine Beach and Pioneer Hall. Hopefully, this hotel will have a similar final reaction like DVC cabins did as they have since impressed many .

In May of this year, Disney shared that work would begin around the Meadows Swimmin' Pool. At that time, Disney did not share what this project was.

Disney later confirmed that new amenities would be coming to the campground!

About a month later, Disney confirmed that new amenities would be coming to the campground. A new zero entry swimming pool, along with a tennis court, and two pickleball court! Read all the details on the expansion HERE.

Disney World has updated the Fort Wilderness website. It now states,

In the previous announcement, no end date was shared. Now, the construction near the Meadow Swimmin' Pool is expected to last through mid-2026.
