The Boardwalk is one of our favorite resorts here at Kenny the Pirate. We love the great location and walkable proximity to two theme parks, the entertainment, the dining, and the varied room types that make this resort an excellent and relaxing option for so many guests.

Recently, the Boardwalk has undergone massive changes. From the recent closing of the ESPN Club and the announcement of the new Cake Bake Shop restaurant to the arrival of a new coffee shop in the lobby space of the resort and the change of the Boardwalk Bakery to the Boardwalk Deli, there are many new changes coming to the resort.

With these new additions, however, some of our favorites are disappearing.

Unfortunately, one of my family’s favorite dining options on the Boardwalk is reportedly permanently closed. Along the water of Crescent Lake are several quick service cart locations that offer meals, snacks, and drinks.

The Boardwalk To Go Cart, one of these options, served chicken strip baskets, hot dogs, loaded fries, and more. This was a favorite for my family because of its quick convenience and family-friendly food items.

We are sad to report, however, that this cart appears to be permanently closed. According to guests online, the cart is closed and emptied. A guest asked the individual power washing the outside of the cart if it would be opening soon and the man working reported that the option is permanently closed and will be replaced with a different food cart later.

We can confirm that the Boardwalk To Go Cart no longer shows up as an option on Disney’s website. When I visited in early December, the cart was still there but was completely closed. This seemed unusual on a busy Saturday night on the Boardwalk.

We are so sad to see this option disappear on the Boardwalk! It is our hope that the To Go Cart is replaced with another great family friendly option for Boardwalk dining waterfront or for picnics on the Village Green.
