Return of Characters
When Disney recently announced the return of character meets, we learned of a few modifications. First, these would not be up close meets where you can get an autograph and hug them. Instead of calling this a character meet, Disney has changed all descriptions on the website to “sighting.”
Early March, Disneyland Paris announced that they non-distanced character interactions would return for many of their costumed characters. On April 1st, Disneyland Paris Guests could once again interact with “face characters” without distancing as well.
This encouraged us that we may once again be able to hug Mickey Mouse in the not so distant future. We all reminisced of how great the return of traditional character meet and greets would be.
Character Hugs are Back
We are very excited to share that Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and Aulani are now have non-distanced character meets! Get those autograph books ready! Guests can now meet their favorite Disney pals without any kind of mask or social distancing requirements beginning today, April 18, 2022!
Traditional character meet and greets have returned to Walt Disney World.
That’s right, long lines are already forming as Guests wait to give hugs and grab autographs from their favorite Disney pals. Many wondered when changes may come to character dining. We have exciting news to share.
Character Dining Update
There are many great character dining experiences all throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. A few of our favorites are at Disney’s Hollywood & Vine, Topolino’s Terrace at Disney’s Riviera Resort, Tusker House in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Chef Mickey’s at Disneys Contemporary Resort.
Today, Guests dining at Topolino’s Terrace are delighted to once again be able to hug and interact with characters without social distancing. Instagram user Rachelgoestodisney shares her first non-distanced interaction with Mickey at Topolino’s Terrace.
