Disney Takes Steps to Reduce Line Skipping at Cosmic Rewind
After several heated altercations among Guests, Disney finally cracks down on line skipping at this popular attraction.
Cosmic Rewind

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind still garners high wait times at EPCOT, and for good reason. It is a fairly reliable attraction compared to other Walt Disney World attractions (We are looking at you, Rise of the Resistance).
Not only is it the longest fully enclosed coaster in any Disney park, but it is also the first reverse-launch and first omnicoaster Disney has done.
Even after enjoying this attraction several times, it is still difficult to take in all of the details.
Cosmic Rewind Crowd Control

Guests must pass through 3 different preshows, reshuffling and turning back into a line. Some guests get a bit overzealous and rush, and perhaps even run and push to get from place to place. It can make for a bit of an unpleasant experience.
Due to negative Guest experiences, Disney has made several operational changes to help keep Guests safe while moving quickly throughout this attraction queue. However, the most recent Guest altercation happened even before the first preshow room.
Disney security even had to step in when two adult Guests had an altercation while waiting in line at Cosmic Rewind.
Cosmic Rewind Line Skipping

This past week, Disney Guests shared that at several key points throughout Cosmic Rewind, Cast Members warned Guests that they should not proceed further inside the attraction unless their entire party was together.
Guests hoping to enter the attraction to rejoin their family were not allowed to enter the attraction, with the sole exception of needing to use the bathroom.
Disney testing system to prevent line skipping at Cosmic Rewind.
This is simply a test and is not always in effect. It is confusing how this may affect guests who are unable to utilize a traditional queue but do not qualify for DAS (Disability Access Service). These Guests are encouraged to wait outside while their family makes their way through the traditional queue. When their travel party gets closer to boarding the attraction, they are then encouraged to join them.
It will be interesting to see how this testing goes and if this will be tried at other Walt Disney World attractions.
What do you think about this testing? Do you think this should be tested at other Disney Park attractions? Share your thoughts with us and share this news with your Disney pals.
