New Details Spark a Possible Change for Hollywood Studios Tower of Terror
A BIG change may be coming to the thrilling Tower of Terror attraction at Walt Disney World.
Tower of Terror
The fan-favorite Tower of Terror attraction brings thrills to guests of all ages. This attraction is offered at both Walt Disney World's Hollywood Studios and Disneyland Paris Walt Disney Studios Park.
In 2023, Disney began a secret refurbishment for the Tower of Terror. The ride wasn't 100% closed. Instead, portions of the ride closed so work could be completed while keeping the attraction open.
As the attraction ran at half capacity, wait times grew.
Tower of Terror Refurbishment
Earlier, a permit was filed for the Tower of Terror, listing the contractor as MLC Theming. MLC Theming serves Theme Parks with "scenic painting, aging structures, fabricating facades, carving rock work, and more."
For several months, large scaffolding covered the exterior of the Tower of Terror as crews could be seen painting. While we understand that refurbishment work must be completed, this takes away from the overall aesthetic and the timeline for this attraction.
This change only affects the exterior of this attraction, but could there be more changes coming to Tower of Terror?
Tower of Terror Changes
Mark Silverman is the famous voice of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Walt Disney World. Recently, he shared that he visited the Walt Disney Imagineering office.
Silverman reminisced, "One of my favorite places to be. It all started for me there in 1993, auditioning to narrate a brand-new attraction for Walt Disney World called The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror."
Mark Silverman recently visited Walt Disney Imagineering.
While this visit could mean anything, we are hopeful that this could be a return to his work for Tower of Terror. Once he shared this post on Instagram, a commenter asked if we would be hearing something new from Silverman at Disney. Silverman replied, "Well...could be."
