Breaking: Characters Now Meeting without Social Distancing at one Disney Park

There have been so many changes throughout the Disney Parks recently. For the first time in forever, now our favorite characters can be met without social distancing at one of Disney’s theme parks.

Return of Characters

When Disney recently announced the return of character meets, we learned of a few modifications. First, these will not be up close meets where you can get an autograph and hug them. Instead of calling this a character meet, Disney has changed all descriptions on the website to “sighting.”  Originally, there was also NO Photopass available at these character sightings.

Recently Disney relaxed the face mask mandate in the Disney Parks as well. This now allows Guests to take photos without face masks with their favorite characters. Unfortunately, there is still distance in between characters and Guests for the most part. Recently we shared that new signs point to the possible return of regular character interactions. Non-Distanced Character Interactions

Throughout the past couple years, we have seen a few differences of the health and safety guidelines for the Disney Parks throughout the world. Disneyland Paris announced that Guests can meet their favorite characters without social distancing. What does this look like?

Full character interactions have now returned in Disneyland Paris. That’s right, Guests can take photos with, receive autographs, and even give hugs to Disney characters. This is HUGE news!!! Although we loved the return of characters, we still missed giving Mickey a great big hug.

Will this affect Walt Disney World?

At this time, “Character Sightings” are still in place at Walt Disney World and Disneyland. However, we take this change at Disneyland Paris as a positive sign that non-distanced character interactions may be seen in our near future.

With the opening of the Galactic Starcruiser, Guests are able to interact with characters without social distancing measures. We are brightly optimistic that soon everyone will be able to give Mickey a huge hug here at Walt Disney World.
