Disney park goers have been adjusting to the new park experience with Disney’s Genie+. But is Genie+ going to make a big difference in your day? Disney just dropped some BIG news on what you can expect with Genie+. Do you agree with them?

Disney Genie+ is a brand new system that was introduced to Walt Disney World in October 2021. The Disney Genie+ is a one day fee add-on where you can access even more attractions with shorter wait times for $15.98 (including tax) per day per Guest. We just recently saw Character Sightings being added to the Genie+ selections. Will this new addition make more guests use it?
There is no limit to how many Guests may purchase Disney Genie+ (eeek!) in a certain day, but certain attractions can be unavailable throughout the day. Check out the frustrations with the Disney Genie+ HERE.

Helpful Tips For Genie+
Sometimes the Genie+ feature isn’t as helpful as we want. Park guests would find the time they thought they were booking is not what was confirmed. This is a big disappointment!

Disney Changes Wording
If you visit the Walt Disney World website, you may notice that they have changed some wording. They have now added, “On average, guests can enter 2 to 3 attractions or experiences per day using the Lightning Lane entrance if the first selection is made early in the day.”

Is this all Disney expects people to get with Genie+? Is it really worth the money to only skip 2-3 lines? I (Heather) have not tried the Genie+ system yet, but 2-3 rides doesn’t seem worth it to me. I wonder if this will change how many people purchase Genie+.

Disney Genie was not designed for the park guest. It is designed to keep guests in the park which is why selected venues cover the entire day. Using DG forces the park guest to rely on the programe and therefore spend the entrie day in a single park.

TBH I get they are able to monetise lightning lanes. As do Universal. But I would rather pay more with a guarantee of access than this pay up front and you may or may not approach. It grates me that I have to book everything - Park Pass, Genie + then lightning lanes and then dining. Too stressful.

We used it in December. Hated being tied to the phone all day and not having guaranteed ride plans. We are not going back until they offer something better so we can skip the lines. Just not interested in spending so much $$ and feeling like we are getting nothing for our efforts. So sad to see our Disney days behind us! It’s just not for us anymore.

2-3 is hilarious, but I guess just like wait times they aim to under promise and over deliver. For HS if you aren't willing to refresh to get a drop or cancellation, then on busy days 3 for rides is realistic and another 2 for characters. The other parks you can do far better. MK rarely runs out of LLs until after 7 pm. That's 6 LLs just following the 2 hour rule, but in reality several of those will be under 2 hours, so 8-10 LLs there is realistic. AK so few people use it that you can LL all 4 of the rides there, then hop somewhere else. EP 8 at minimum.
