Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
We are all anxiously awaiting another completed project at Epcot. This multi-year transformation has been a wonder to behold as we see projects come to life! I love that Disney is adding more attractions to Epcot.
Although we do not have an opening date yet, Guardians of the Galaxy is set to welcome Guests this summer. A Disney executive may have leaked a more precise timeframe of Memorial Day. See that news HERE.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is a family-friendly coaster that features a ride vehicle that rotates 360 degrees. For the first time at a Disney Park, you’ll find a reverse launch! The latest updates include progress on both the exterior and the interior. Disney Imagineer Zach Riddley also shared a lengthy update on the progress being made on the attraction queue and the reason behind some of the creative decisions. You can read about that HERE.
In addition, there is a rumored height requirement and a new gift shop that will be located at the attraction.
Special Previews
Okay, so obviously we are nearing the very end of construction! Things are really taking shape, but why is Disney so quiet on its opening? Other than a summer timeline and a mistaken(?) tweet suggesting Memorial Day, we have not learned when the ride will open.
According to reports we are seeing, media previews are likely to take place during the first week of May. If we look at Remy’s opening last fall, Club 33 members, DVC Members, Annual Passholders, and D23 members got special access to the attraction shortly after.

This sequence of events definitely leads to a Memorial Day opening, which is at the end of May for those who are not familiar with it.
Back to normal
It has been a very long two years. It finally feels like we are in the home stretch of normal. We are excited for Hoop-Dee-Doo and H2O events, but we also eagerly anticipate character hugs and the Dining Plan.
Let’s all hope for a full return to normal by the summer!
