When is the Disney Dining Plan returning? That seems to be the question on everyone’s mind. One hotel DOES have a dining plan, but it’s not the traditional plan!
Disney Dining Plan
To get the dining plan or not was always a hot topic of conversation. Do you want an all-inclusive experience or not? Would you prefer to have everything paid for ahead of time, or do you like to pay as you go?
The Disney Dining Plan is one of the few experiences that has not returned yet. Not only are several restaurants still not open, but those that are are modified. Because of this, it does not make sense for Disney to reintroduce the Dining Plan.
However, that does not mean it is gone forever. No, Disney has told us that it WILL return. The big question is when…and how much more? Since Disney has modified character meals and lowered pricing at some restaurants, Disney needs to wait for these experiences to return to normal before reintroducing the plan.
However, there is one hotel that does offer a meal plan.
Meal Plan
Although not technically a Disney World resort, Shades of Green does sit on Disney property. Other than the Swan and Dolphin, it is one of the few non-Disney hotels that feels the most like a Disney Resort. It is a quick walk from the Polynesian, meaning you can catch the monorail or a Disney bus nearby.
Shades of Green is a hotel specifically for current service members, retirees, and select DOD employees. Room rates are some of the cheapest you will find, and the room sizes are comparable to deluxe resorts. I have stayed here a couple times, and while it’s not my favorite place to stay, I always consider it a good option.
Shades of Green is one of the few spots with a meal plan. Specifically, they are offering a breakfast meal plan at Garden Gallery.

For the month of March, Guests staying at Shades of Green can opt in for a breakfast meal plan. This will get you 10% off the breakfast buffet for every day of your stay. Like other shops and restaurants at Shades of Green, this meal is tax-free! Plus, children 4 and under eat for free.
Buffet items include a waffle station, cooked-to-order omelettes, speciality pancakes, seasonal fruits, and various meats. Healthier options and gluten free items are also available.
The best part is this meal plan actually saves you money! Guests will save 10% on the buffet by purchasing the meal plan. Normal pricing is also already reasonable at $16.50/adults and $9.50/kids 5 and up. You can call the hotel to purchase the meal time ahead of time and have your breakfast paid for and ready to go for each day of your stay.
