Opening Date for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is a family-friendly coaster features a ride vehicle that rotates 360 degrees. For the first time at a Disney Park, you’ll find a reverse launch! Last week we received a “possible” opening date for this attraction. Disney Public Relation Chief Geoff Morrell shared an opening date for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind via Twitter.
It appears that he may have shared this information earlier than the Walt Disney Company had planned. This tweet was quickly deleted. Soon after Morrell posted on Twitter that this attraction would be “Coming Soon.” Find out more about the possible opening timeline HERE.
New Loading Area Revealed
Today, Imagineer Zach Riddley shared a new update for this attraction via Instagram. Riddley shares, “Recently, Imagineering revealed a first-look at the incredible load station of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in @DisneyD23 magazine.” You can check out a photo of this new loading station below.
At this time they have not yet revealed the height requirements for this attraction. We know many families are looking forward to this information for their children.
Ride Vehicle Name Revealed
We now know that the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride vehicles will be referred to as “Starjumper vehicles.” This will allow Guests “to take off with the Guardians of the Galaxy on a race through time and space!”
Ridley shares, “Our ride team has been hard at work testing this innovative ride system which we call an Omnicoaster. I have had the chance to experience myself, and I can tell you – this is truly unlike anything we’ve ever done!”
We now know that the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride vehicles will be referred to as “Starjumper vehicles.” This will allow Guests “to take off with the Guardians of the Galaxy on a race through time and space!”
Unfortunately , Riddley does not reveal a specific opening date for this attraction. He shares that Guests can enjoy this attraction in the Summer of 2022. We hope that this will be an early Summer 2022 opening for all Guests visiting EPCOT for summer vacations.
