Disney may be run by a mouse, but did you know that the Disney ducks have a fan following of their very own? It is true!

While Donald Duck and Diasy Duck are very popular, so are their real live little feathered friends. People absolutely love the ducks that can be found waddling about Walt Disney World.

They are especially prominent near the water in The Magic Kingdom and in EPCOT. You might even spot a few in the Fountain in Muppet Court Yard over in Hollywood Studios.

Now, the Disney ducks get to welcome some new cousins. These aren’t the typical mallards you see day-to-day in the parks. These are some very special little waterfowl.

The African pygmy geese in Disney’s Animal Kingdom have had a visit from the stork. Baby African pygmy geese have hatched!

The African Pygmy goose is not actually a goose; rather, it is a type of perching duck from sub-Saharan Africa. It is the smallest species of waterfowl in Africa, and it is one of the smallest in the world!

Where to Meet Them

You might have a chance to spot these adorable babies when you visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom this spring. Simply, head to Africa. You will find them on Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail.

You may notice that the mother duck is fussing over the babies while the father is standing watch nearby. It is typical for the pair to divide parenting duties in this way.
