50 Magical Years
For months, we have been sharing all of the fun new decorations, entertainment offerings, and refurbishments that would come together for the start of the 50th Anniversary celebrations of Walt Disney World on October 1, 2021.
Mickey and Minnie Mouse are now greeting Guests in their new outfits and illuminated displays will be seen on all 4 Theme Park icons including Cinderella Castle, the Tree of Life, Spaceship Earth, and the Hollywood Tower Hotel.
There are great 50th Merchandise Collections that Guests are already excited for. Walt Disney World has also installed 50 golden character sculptures throughout each of the four theme parks. This will be a celebration like none other.

Heart of the 50th Anniversary
At the very end of 2020, Jeff Vahle, Walt Disney World President, shared that the Walt Disney Company is looking forward to the 50th Anniversary of Magic Kingdom. Vahle shared, “With Walt Disney World approaching its 50th Anniversary, there could not be a more gratifying time to be selected for this role and to work with the incredible team responsible for creating magical memories for millions of Guests each year.”
The Cast Members have been at the heart of this 50th Anniversary celebration. From special EARidescent name tags to special dedications. On the start of this 18-month long celebration, Vahle has a special message to all Cast Members and Guests who visit “The Most Magical Place on Earth.”
Special Message to Cast and Guests
Vahle shares that 50 years ago Roy O. Disney dedicated Walt Disney World with this wish, “May Walt Disney World bring joy, inspiration, and new knowledge to all who come to this happy place. A Magic Kingdom where the young at heart of all ages can laugh and play and learn together.”
Vahle continues that this continues to be the wish of the many dedicated Cast Members. He ends with this amazing thought, “When we celebrate together, nothing can be more magical.”

This message can also be heard throughout the Magic Kingdom by both Guests and Cast Members. This is such a loving tribute to 50 years of magical memories.
