Fireworks are returning to Walt Disney World and we have a sneak peek of the newly redesigned EPCOT Forever fireworks display. Check out these great photos and find out what Guests can expect at tonight’s show.
Fireworks Return
We were so excited when Walt Disney World announced the return of fireworks. Happily Ever After will return to the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT Forever will return with a few modifications to EPCOT tonight, July 1, 2021.
This will be so exciting for those Guests who are able to visit tonight. Check out the fireworks showtimes HERE. EPCOT Forever Again?
EPCOT Forever was originally a temporary nighttime show that debuted in late 2019. This was temporary in nature as work for the new nighttime show Harmonious was scheduled to debut in the Spring of 2020.
Recently, Walt Disney World shared exciting news for the upcoming 50th Anniversary celebration for the Magic Kingdom. One of the exciting announcements included the news that Harmonious will first debut to Guests on October 1, 2021.
Imagineers have been hard at work on Harmonious, but apparently it is not quite ready yet. The daily work for Harmonious requires for the large barges to remain in the World Showcase Lagoon.
EPCOT Forever Reimagined
This will no doubt change the look of EPCOT Forever just a bit. Fans may remember that previously illuminated kites were flown throughout the night sky. The jet-ski drivers will be unable to maneuver around the various barges located in World Showcase Lagoon to fly these illuminated kites. This element had to be removed, but for the better in my opinion.
Walt Disney has announced, “Guests may notice a few changes to EPCOT Forever, as we’ve added even more pyrotechnics in lieu of the kites that were included in the original version of the show.”
Last night, June 30, 2021, Cast Members were able to enjoy a special preview of this newly designed EPCOT Forever show. We love the new images that Walt Disney World shared today of this show.
Although the kites have been replaced with pyrotechnics, it is amazing to see the skies above Walt Disney World illuminated with these magical fireworks displays.
This show can be enjoyed all throughout the EPCOT Park with a view of the World Showcase Lagoon.
