Disney Springs is a fun place to dine, shop, and play! Here you can find almost anything! You will find some of the best restaurants and shops. There are 93 places to shop, 70 places to eat, and 26 places to play (attractions, shows, and events).

Disney Springs is free to visit, and so is the parking!

I (Heather) love to visit Disney Springs for a little shopping, food, and fun.

T-REX

T-REX is a table service restaurant located in Disney Springs. It the only dinosaur-themed areas in all of Walt Disney World, now that DinoLand USA is extinct.

Many parents want to take their dino-loving children for a fun experience there. Adult dinosaur fans might enjoy it, too!

As a result, it can be a tricky reservation to get. After all, what kid wouldn't want to go to a restaurant and eat with animatronic dinosaurs?

Walk-Up Dining

T-REX can sometimes be a difficult reservation to get, especially during meal times. Walk-up dining can also have long waits without the Landry's Select Club Membership.

Pirate tip: if you don't have a reservation, try dining at non-peak times.

We arrived before the lunch rush and were able to be seated right away. However, when we left there was quite a wait!

Landry's

Like some of the other dining spots, T-REX is not owned by Disney. It's owned by Landry's Inc., which offers a Landry's Select Club membership card that can get you priority seating at any Landry's restaurant without a reservation. You might not be seated immediately, but you will have a significantly shorter wait.

The Landry's Select Club membership costs $25 and offers a $25 reward and a $25 birthday reward redeemable in the restaurant. It also offers rewards points for members who present the card when they visit a Landry's Restaurant Group establishment.

This membership is pushed hard throughout the dining experience. Be prepared. However, if you have Landry restaurants close to home or plan to dine at these restaurants often at Disney this membership could be worth it.

The group also owns Rainforest Cafe with locations in Animal Kingdom and Disney Springs and Yak and Yeti in Animal Kingdom. If you live in or around a major city, it is likely that you can find a Landry's-owned restaurant near you as well including well-known fine dining establishments such as Del Frisco's or Morton's.

Theming

As you enter the restaurant the Dinosaurs are in your face. Every spot in the restaurant has something fun and exciting to see.

One section even has a meteor shower every 15 to 30 minutes. Lights dim and it can get a bit loud at this time. The dinosaurs come to life, and it sounds like it is thundering. I was concerned of little ones being frightened, but it seemed that all parties throughout the restaurant were enjoying the experience.

All the food is dinosaur themed as well. This makes it even more fun for the Dino-loving crowd.

Food - Appetizers

I (Heather) love appetizers. I can be content with a couple of shared appetizers versus a meal. I feel it also gives me the opportunity to try more things.

We opted for the Buffalo Chicken Dip (pictured above) and the Colosso Beef Nachos (pictured below). Yes these items are similar, but they offered up enough variety.

The Colosso Beef Nachos came loaded with toppings that included peppers, onions, black bean chili, Monterey Jack cheese, cheddar cheese, Chili Con Queso, green onions, sour cream, pico de Gallo, and salsa. These toppings weren't just on top of the chips, they were layered through out the nachos!

The Buffalo Chicken Dip offered up shredded chicken, buffalo sauce, cream cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, cheddar, and bleu cheese crumbles all to be enjoyed with tortilla chips. This dip packed plenty of heat without too much punch that most would enjoy. I also feel that sometimes heat level can take away from flavor, and this was not the case.

Kids Menu

My kids got Cosmo's Cheesy Macaroni and Paleo Pizza. These were just your traditional kids pizza and Mac and cheese, but the kids loved it!

Allergies

The staff here at T-REX took allergies very seriously. I loved this!

One of my kids has a food allergy and navigating restaurants can be very nerve wracking. The server had the chef come out, and we were able to find a safe option.

This was a great experience from an allergy stand point alone! It can be very stressful dining out with food allergies, and this experience was awesome.

Cost

The cost seemed to be about average with other table service meals at Disney World. Appetizers were in the $15-20 range. Kid meals were around $15 each. Adult meals range from $15 - $34.99.

T-REX accepts the Disney Dining Plan as one table-service credit. Annual Passholders can also receive 10% off regular priced entrees.

Things to Keep in Mind

This is a themed restaurant, and this theme is EVERYWHERE. Not only is the restaurant and food themed, but the beverages are too. This includes the kids drinks.

There are souvenir mugs available for purchase. BE WARNED: your kids will want these as the server tries to upsell these right away and they're all throughout the restaurant. Our server was fabulous when we declined and didn't continue to push.

There is also a gift shop to complete the Dino-dining experience. You can build your own stuffed dinosaur. Here you can find souvenirs and other memorabilia for purchase. You can see our experience HERE.

Final Thoughts

This restaurant was fun and offered a unique dining experience. My boys loved when the dinosaurs came to life, and they can't wait to go back.

If this is a place or you plan to visit other Landry's restaurants then the Landry's Select Club membership is a great option.

This restaurant is more than just food, and is a whole experience that the family is sure to love. Overall, we enjoyed the food and experience. T-REX is now added to our list of favorite places to dine at Disney World.
