Walt Disney World is in the midst of rethemes and refurbishments. Rides and attractions are the only things subject to refurbishment.
Hotel rooms, lobbies, and swimming pools around Disney World are all going through refurbishments as well!
Back in March, we first shared that Yachtsman Steakhouse at Disney's Yacht Club Resort would close for a multi-month refurbishment.

Yachtsman Steakhouse closed on May 11, 2026, for a refresh. While many Guests claim that this restaurant is often considered a quintessential experience when it comes to signature dining at Disney, everyone agreed that it looked a bit dated.
Initially, Disney anticipated a reopening date this August. Today, Yachtsman Steakhouse shows operating hours beginning August 28, 2026.
Although not officially announced, it appears that this will be the reopening date. At this time, no information has been provided for what changes may have been made during this multi-month closure.

Walt Disney World has opened many attractions and dining locations early as a soft opening for Guests, most recently Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin and Frozen Ever After offered soft openings.

If you are hoping to enjoy one of the best steaks on Disney property during your August trip, keep your fingers crossed that Yachtsman Steakhouse may offer a soft opening.

Not my favorite. We had a terrible meal the one time we ate there, from a long wait to get seated, even when there was a section of empty tables, to the dour server, to the just okay steak.
