The Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground has undergone and continues to go through quite a bit of construction. The resort just finished up erosion work along with a lobby refurbishment.

Disney is also working on a new pool, along with a tennis court, and two pickleball court that will be located at the Meadow!

Disney Vacation Club is also constructing Disney Lakeshore Lodge which is just behind Pioneer Hall. You can see photos of the construction HERE.

Pool Construction Detour

With all the construction happening around the Meadow, there are some detours that Fort Guests need to know. Fortunately, there are lots of signage up to alert Guests of these detours along with where to park coming in a different way to the Meadow.

Guests wishing to visiting the Meadow Swimmin' Pool and Meadow Recreation Area must enter through the 1400 loop. Guests will follow the signs depending on how they are traveling (foot or vehicle/golf cart). This will bring Guests into the Meadow Recreation area near the Campfire Sing-A-Long entrance.

Golf cart parking remains the same in the designated golf cart parking lots. The route in is just a bit different due to the detour.

The main entrance for golf carts or pedestrians to get to the Meadow Swimmin' Pool is currently closed, and detour signage is posted to alert Guests.

Construction Update

The new pool house structure is quickly making progress. During my visit, work was happening in the pool area, along with the two structures near the pool. They were also placing trees around the structures.

Around the Meadow Swimmin' Pool house there is green fencing and a ramp to cover any construction equipment that has to travel across the walking path. The Meadow Swimmin' Pool and quick service location remains fully open for Guests.

Inside the Meadow Swimmin' Pool area there are brown construction walls blocking the view of the new pool's construction.

Guests that venture up the stairs to the water slide at the Meadow Swimmin' Pool can get a better view of the new pool. You can see the new pool taking shape in the picture below.
