Disney+ has been busy lately. The streaming service has seen some big changes including pricing structure and password sharing announcements.
There have also been some unfortunate cancelation announcements. For example, The Muppets Mayhem has been canceled after just one season. In fact, several other shows are ending including the Mysterious Benedict Society, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.
But, there is new content to celebrate too! Bluey received a new wave of Episodes. Ahsoka got the green light for a new season. Taylor Swift is on the way, to Disney+ too! And, now we have another HUGE announcement.

Rick Riordan’s beloved Percy Jackson series has been reimagined and released as a Disney+ series. Fans were hoping for the best after a less-than-stellar theatrical rendition of the best seller left viewers feeling underwhelmed, and Disney+ seems to have delivered with this one! The rewrite has been a much more faithful retelling of the story.
Truly, perhaps sticking more closely to the original material is just what Disney needed to do to break the spell of underperforming premieres that it has seen with some of its recent releases both in theaters and on the streaming service.

The show certainly has staying power. In fact, today, Disney announced that Percy Jackson and the Olympians has been renewed for a second season! This is fantastic news for fans.
