Suspicious Package Near Disney Prompts Evacuations and Police Response
Last night was chaotic for many Disney Park Guests when all exits were rerouted. See what we know so far about this incident.
Emergencies at Disney
While the majority of operations run smoothly at the Disney Parks, there are times when things don't always go as planned. Evacuations, malfunctions, and more can really impact the day-to-day running of the parks.
For example, earlier this week, we shared how a DoorDash driver allegedly pulled a gun on a Walt Disney World bus driver. There are also reports of questionable Guest behavior when a Guest went diving on the Gran Fiesta Tour at EPCOT, and a Guest was seen swimming in the Seven Seas Lagoon.
Some emergencies require coordinated evacuations, such as when a fire alarm on Main Street, USA, at Disneyland triggered the evacuation of several shops and dining locations last fall.
Suspicious Package Identified
According to NBC Los Angeles, a suspicious package was found near the Esplanade drop-off area near Harbor Boulevard. This is a popular location, as the Esplanade is located between Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.
Guests enter and exit both Parks using this Esplanade. Police quickly arrived, and the priority was the safety of Guests and Cast Members.
Disneyland Evacuation
Around 10 pm on Monday, October 12, 2026, Guests were not able to exit the Disney Parks through the main exits, but were instead all led through side exits leading them through Downtown Disney.
According to the.disneylanders, drones were seen overhead, and the scene was a bit chaotic. All transit was closed to Guests.
All Disney Parks exits were rerouted last night due to a suspicious package.
At this time, the incident is still ongoing. The good news is that even though the scene was confusing for Guests, no one was reported injured due to the suspicious package. We will provide an update if more information is released.
