Auditions Now Being Held for the Newly Reimagined Hoop-Dee-Doo Show

Return of Hoop-Dee-Doo

After hearing many rumors that Hoop-Dee-Doo would not be returning, we were delighted to hear that these were simply rumors. Cast Members were reportedly being called back to return several months ago, which was great news along with more rumors of the show’s return. Then, back in October of 2021, Yehaa Bob shared that the show would return in January.

Walt Disney World announced that this Wild West dinner theatre would be returning very soon. Check out the return date and when you can begin to purchase tickets HERE.

Return with a Few Changes

The Hoop-Dee-Doo stage at the Fort Wilderness has remained dark since 2020 with the park closure. With the reopening of this show, there WILL be some updates to the script and scenery. 

This will not be the exact show you are used to. The show is still the same show it’s always been though. Lots of singing, laughs, and good food.

The Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue is a dinner entertainment featuring 6 multi-talented performers in a high-energy interactive show. The Walt Disney Company shared that “current full-time Equity and Character Cast Members are under consideration and need not attend this set of auditions.”

With many Cast returning from the previous show, the Walt Disney Company has posted, “We will be considering candidates who are Local to the Central Florida area for sub/casual temporary positions only.” The 6 current roles include the following:

Claire DeLune: Johnny’s girl; she’s adorable, lovable and flirtatious, full of life and best known for her outrageous “giggle.” Singer who dances. 

Dolly Drew: Strong woman and “Annie Oakley” type. Vaudevillian style Comedian. Her mannerisms and style are less than demure. Character actor/comedienne.

Flora Long: Beautiful leading lady; sweet and petite; vocal soloist-soprano.

Jim Handy: Leader of the troupe; a leading man type; handsome, outgoing, friendly, vocal soloist-heroic bass/baritone. 

Johnny Ringo: Handsome, dapper; the song and dance man; a true gentleman. Classic air of sophistication. Singer who dances. 

Six Bits: A “punster”, Vaudevillian style Comedian; his brand of humor is often slapstick. Character actor/comedian.
