50th Anniversary

This celebration will run for a full 18 months. The Orlando airport and all 4 Theme Parks will get in on the fun with special decorations and 50 golden statues of many of our favorite characters.
California Grill
California Grill is located on the 15th floor of the Contemporary Resort with amazing panoramic views of the Magic Kingdom and Seven Seas Lagoon. There are floor to ceiling windows and two viewing platforms.

When going to book a dining reservation to California Grill, Guests are greeted with this update that the California Grill will be unavailable for bookings after October 2nd.
The Walt Disney World website states that this brief closure will allow the California Grill to “create a special dining experience for the 50th anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World Resort.”
We are so excited to learn more about this special dining experience. The California Grill offers fantastic views of the Magic Kingdom. This will undoubtedly be a great location to celebrate this magical celebration.

Closing on October 2nd when the bday is Oct 1 to prepare for special anniversary dining experience Sounds bizarre. Why wasn't this preparation done prior to Oct 1? Prob make few changes and charge 4x the price because it's anniversary.
