Large Dose of Pixie Dust Now Coming to Small Businesses from Former Disney CEO

Bob Iger Continued Effort

In February Disney CEO, Bob Iger, stepped down from his role as CEO and into the role of Executive Chairman. Since that time, Bob Iger has been instrumental in the reopening of the Disney Parks. 

He also served on the California Recovery Task Force in an effort to aid in the safely reopening of the entertainment industry in the state of California. Unfortunately, Bob Iger left this Task Force in October when Disneyland’s indefinite closure led to massive Disney layoffs.

Large Dose of Pixie Dust

Bob Iger and his wife, Willow Bay, donated 5 million dollars to benefit small businesses in the Los Angeles area in an effort to help them survive the pandemic. Previous to this large donation, both Iger and his wife donated $500,000 to the Mayor’s Fund of Los Angeles.

This Mayor’s Fund provided grants to this Los Angeles small businesses that were in need during the COVID-19 crisis.

Iger shares, Small businesses are the heart and soul of our communities, and we hope this helps some of the hardest hit to stay afloat during this difficult time.”

Los Angeles Mayor, Eric Garcetti, stated that this recent donation will help 1,000 struggling businesses. Garcetti shared that these grants are the “difference between folding up and pushing through.”
