EPCOT Resort Alerts Guests of Dining Cancellations
Guests were notified that their dining reservations were cancelled, but now we may have a reopening timeline for this dining location.
Disney World Fire
On June 25, 2026, Disney World guests were alarmed when they witnessed something understandably concerning. Dark clouds of smoke could be seen billowing from EPCOT area hotels.
Guests at Beach Club, Yacht Club, and BoardWalk reportedly noticed thick clouds of dark smoke in the late afternoon/early evening. The source of the smoke was the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort.
Although the Disney Swan and Dolphin are not Disney-managed, the complex is still considered a Disney hotel. Guests enjoy Disney Deluxe resort benefits.
Source of the Disney Dolphin Fire
The fire reportedly started in the kitchen of Disney Dolphin's Bourbon Steak restaurant. The fire department responded to the scene. Fortunately, the problem was contained and dealt with swiftly.
The restaurant, unfortunately, will be closed until further notice, but the hotel itself was not damaged.
After being closed for several weeks, a new glimmer of hope was issued for when it may reopen.
Guests Being Notified of Closure
The Swan and Dolphin website now states, "Dear Guests: Please be advised that our Bourbon Steak restaurant is temporarily closed."
Bourbon Steak does not offer operating hours until September 16, 2026.
"We invite you to join us at one of our other 22 outlets, including 5 signature restaurants: Celebrity Chef Todd English's Blue Zoo; IL Mulino Trattoria; Kimonos, Aware, or Rosa Mexicano for Coastal, Italian, Sushi, Mediterranean, and Mexican cuisines."
"Guests may also opt for enjoyable meals at our casual, quick-stop, or lounge venues. We look forward to welcoming you back to Bourbon Steak soon!"
Currently, there are no dining reservations available until September 16, 2026. This may be the projected reopening date for Bourbon Steak. An official reopening date has not been announced yet.
