Emergencies can occur even in the most magical place on earth. Florida has been hit pretty hard this year with record-low temps, a fog advisory, and even an extreme heat advisory.
This week alone, severe thunderstorms shut down over 20 attractions across Walt Disney World.
Due to complications from thunderstorms, both The Beak and Barrel and Tiffins Restaurant were both evacuated on June 29, 2026.
"it's a small world" Evacuation

A new viral video surfaced as Guests were being evacuated from the "it's a small world" attraction at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.
In the video, it appears that smoke is present in the boat loading area of this attraction.
All Guests were fully evacuated from aboard the attractions and in the queue areas for this attraction. "it's a small world" was closed for 90 minutes while Cast Members sprang into action.
Reason for "it's a small world" evacuation

What many thought was a fire emergency at "it's a small world" was simply an accidental deployment of the fire extinguisher at this attraction.
"it's a small world" evacuated on July 1, 2026, and closed for 90 minutes.
Disney trains Cast Members in the "5 Keys" which help to provide the highest quality of hospitality to all guests. These include Safety, Courtesy, Inclusion, Show, and Efficiency. Safety is listed first and is vitally important to provide safety for all guests and fellow Cast Members.
After the area was cleaned up and deemed safe, Guests were once again welcomed aboard.
