Prepare for longer checkout lines as Disney Parks remove several mobile checkout locations.

Disney Mobile Checkout Testing

In 2021, Disney started testing Mobile Checkout through their mobile apps. This happened at both Disneyland and Disney World.

Guests fell in love with how easy this was. In your My Disney Experience app, select the "Shop in Store" by selecting the large + on the bottom of the screen.

From there, select your store. You will then scan items as you add them to your bag. Once you're done shopping, tap "check out" to pay on your phone. Simply show your QR code to a Cast Member at the designated area near the exit.

This feature had two great benefits. First, you could skip long checkout lines. Secondly, all eligible discounts (for example, Annual Pass, Magic Key, or Disney Vacation Club) are automatically applied to your purchase if they are linked to your account.

Over the past few years, Mobile Checkout expanded to several more retail locations at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

Now, Disney has removed several Mobile Checkout locations at Disneyland.

Previously, Disneyland offered Mobile Checkout at Downtown Disney, Disneyland Park, and Disney's California Adventure. Now, Mobile Checkout has been removed from both Disney Parks.

Only World of Disney, located at the Downtown Disney District offers Mobile Checkout. We are not sure why Disney has removed the other Mobile Checkout option to the other retail locations.

We hope that the Mobile Checkout feature will continue to be offered throughout the Walt Disney World Parks.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Donna loved Disney from an early age. As a child, her family would joke that she lived in "Donna Land." As an adult, she enjoys planning and creating magical vacations for her family. She always brings a little faith, trust, and a little bit of Pixie Dust!

  1. I hope it continues to be an option at WDW. I really appreciate the convenience of it & use it, often. I have wished that it would become even MORE available (at WDW).
