There has been a hazmat incident at Disneyland that has sent several people to the hospital. Find out what we know.
Emergencies at Disney

Emergency situations can happen even at Disney. Unfortunately, the "Disney Bubble" does not prevent these types of situations from occurring.
Safety is listed as the first key in the "5 Keys" and is vitally important to provide safety for all guests and fellow Cast Members.
Disney trains Cast Members in the "5 Keys" which help to provide the highest quality of hospitality to all guests. These include Safety, Courtesy, Inclusion, Show, and Efficiency.
Incident at Disneyland

Today, there was a hazmat incident at Disneyland that caused eight Cast Members to be transported to the hospital for evaluation. These Cast Members were reporting dizziness and shortness of breath. According to Disney officials several others were treated at the park, but did not require further evaluation at the hospital.
A hazardous material incident happened today, March 10th, 2026 around 12:30 PM at Disneyland Park.
The incident occurred backstage near the Star Tours attraction. It was reported that Guests areas were cleared for safety, but no Guests were involved in the incident.
Disney Releases Statement

According to Disney officials, building materials used by a contractor caused the incident in the backstage area. Earlier today, Fox 11 news shared this statement from a Disneyland Resort official:
"This afternoon, building materials being used by a contractor produced a reaction backstage at Disneyland park, and the area was examined by appropriate response teams. Several cast members were treated on-site by paramedics and released; and at this time, five cast members experiencing dizziness and shortness of breath were transported to local hospitals. Out of an abundance of caution, adjacent onstage areas were cleared of guests and are expected to reopen soon."
Since this statement from Disney was released, three more Cast Members were transported to the hospital for further evaluation (eight people total). No further details on how the impacted Cast Members are doing have been released.
We continue to pray for the safety and health of all the Cast Members and first responders involved in this incident.
