Disney Reduces Fantasyland Attraction without Warning
After promising that this attraction would remain fully open, Disney now backtracks. Find out how this closure will affect your next trip to the Magic Kingdom.
Fantasyland Closures

Earlier, we shared that Disney filed a work permit for 1272 Magic Kingdom Drive. This address is located across from The Barnstormer and will affect the circus tents at Pete's Silly Sideshow, and the Big Top Souvenirs Shop.
Pete's Silly Sideshow closed January 4, 2026.
Disney confirmed that although this refurbishment will close the traditional meeting queue for Donald, Goofy, Daisy, and Minnie, they are expected to roam Storybook Circus while this closure takes place.
Big Top Souvenir Closure

Disney shared that Big Top Souvenirs would close in February 2026, but no closing date was set. Today, February 20th, Big Top Souvenirs is officially closed and will reopen to Guests later in the year.
With so many closures taking place in Fantasyland, Disney did promise that during these closures, "Smellophants on Parade" will remain open to Guests
"Smellophants on Parade" is a family-friendly search and sniff adventure located in Fantasyland's Storybook Circus. The task, if you choose to accept it, locate all 8 pachyderms throughout Storybook Circus. Once located, attach the correct sticker to your map.
Smellophants on Parade Closure

The good news is that a portion of the "Smellophants on Parade" is still open to guests. The proverbial elephant in the room is that we are actually two elephants down for this interactive experience.
New maps now debut for "Smellophants on Parade" due to construction walls.
Due to current construction walls, the Caramel-Dipped Apple elephant and the Cotton Candy elephant are now missing from the "Smellophants on Parade" map. Guests will still receive their "Top-Nose Whiff-sistant" sticker once completing this scavenger hunt. Now, the course has been reduced.
Disney shared that Big Top Souvenirs will reopen "later this year," so this newly updated "Smellophants on Parade" map may be the new "norm" for a little while.
What do you think of this closure? Do you think there is too much construction taking place at the Magic Kingdom right now? Share your thoughts with us and share this news with your Disney pals.
