Travel Advisory: Orlando International Airport to Be Impacted by FAA Flight Reduction
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced they will reduce flights throughout the country at several major airports. Find out the details and how it will impact you.
Orlando International Airport and the Government Shutdown

When the government shutdown began on October 1, 2025, Orlando International Airport (MCO) had released a statement regarding the airport's operations. The statement shared the impact it could have on travelers. You can read the full statement HERE.
However, Orlando International Airport still anticipated normal operations during the shutdown.

Major Airports To See Flight Reduction

The FAA revealed a list of 40 major airports that will be seeing a 10% in flight reduction. This could cut thousands of flights daily.
"Our sole role is to make sure that we keep this airspace as safe as possible. Reduction in capacity at 40 of our locations. This is not based on light airline travel locations. This is about where the pressure is and how to really deviate the pressure."

Flight reduction is planned to start tomorrow (Friday, November 7th). Below is the 40 airports that will be impacted:
