Although many guests would rather not be on their phone while on vacation, the My Disney Experience app is truly invaluable. After all, it has everything you need to enjoy a magical vacation!
Like all apps, it receives regular updates to improve the overall guest experience. Earlier this summer, Disney created a new update that would help streamline booking dining reservations.
When the Walt Disney World dining reservation system experienced technical difficulties for several hours due to the opening of The Beak and Barrel dining reservations, they made several unpopular changes. Thankfully, order has been restored to the app.
Important My Disney Experience Warning
Walt Disney World will often display pop-up notifications to guests via the My Disney Experience app. This is helpful to communicate ride closures, changes in operations, and important updates.
Today, Disney notifies guests of an important change: "Your Family & Friends List is unavailable in the My Disney Experience app at this time."
"Please manage your Family & Friends List via our website." At this time, it is unclear if this is a temporary or permanent change.
Adding Disney Friends and Family
My Disney Experience breaks down the Friends and Family List into those you have plans with and those you don't. Double-check your Friends and Family list to make sure everyone is included before it's time to reserve dining and make Lightning Lane selections.
Guests can no longer add Friends and Family on the My Disney Experience app.
