Star Wars: Starfighter is set for a theatrical release on May 28, 2027. This Star Wars movie promises to be a little different.
It is not a spinoff like the upcoming Mandalorian and Grogu movie. Nor is it a sequel or a prequel. Rather, Star Wars: Starfighter promises to be its own standalone story.
Direction
The film will be directed by Shawn Levy. You may know him for directing Disney's billion-dollar money-maker Deadpool and Wolverine.
According to Levy, Star Wars: Starfighter will delve into brand new territory. It is set in a period that hasn't been explored.
Star-Studded Cast
The movie has also locked in a cast full of stars. As it turns out, Ryan Gosling isn't just Ken. He's got Star Wars action figure potential, too. He is set to star in the movie.

If you have ever been enchanted by Amy Adams, you will be delighted to know that she has also signed on to Star Wars: Starfighter. And Dr. Who's 11th doctor, Matt Smith will join them. Flynn Gray, Mia Goth, Simon Bird, Jamael Westman, and Daniel Ings will also join the line-up.
