There is a lot of Disney movie news today! Star Wars is gearing up for exciting new stories, including a Mandalorian and Grogu movie! See when you can catch it in theaters.
Mandalorian Series
Star Wars: “The Mandalorian” is a space Western web television series created by Jon Favreau. It premiered as a new original series on Disney+ when the streaming service became available in November 2019.
“The Mandalorian” is the first live-action series for the Star Wars franchise. And, it has done very well!
Many loyal Star Wars fans were a bit skeptical of this new venture, but after 3 seasons of the show all skepticism is gone. And now, Mando and Baby Yoda’s stories will continue with this new adventure.
Feature Film
Mandalorian and Grogu are getting their own feature film! That’s right, they are heading to movie theaters!
It will be directed by Jon Favreau and produced by Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, and Dave Filoni. Production begins this year.

Release Date
The Mandalorian & Grogu will be released in theaters on May 22, 2026. This is right before Toy Story 5! And, the live-action Moana will be released later.
