Disney guests were delighted to see this beloved Disney star filming in the Parks. Find out who was spotted and when you can watch the completed project.
Special Filming

Walt Disney World and Disneyland are popular vacation destinations for many and are even used as a set for many popular television shows. Did you know that Disney’s Hollywood Studios served as a filming set when it was MGM Studios?
Before MGM Studios officially opened in May of 1989, it served as a filming set for Newsies and Ernest Saves Christmas. Throughout the year, special filming takes place throughout Walt Disney World, such as near the holidays.
Many of our favorite television shows also use Walt Disney World as a filming set, such as Full House, Family Matters, The Middle, Black-ish, and many more. We have even seen football royalty and Blippi filming at the Magic Kingdom.
Lin-Manuel Miranda at Disneyland

Yesterday, May 7th, guests visiting Disneyland noticed special filming taking place along the balcony of the exclusive, private Club 33. Quite a crowd gathered to see who was filming, and it was none other than Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Earlier this week, the hit television show American Idol revealed the Top 7 and announced that Lin-Manuel Miranda would serve as their mentor as they prepared for a special Disney Night.
Thanks to this video by @disneygirls714, Lin-Manuel Miranda takes a break from filming and mentoring to greet guests. Lin-Manuel brought Hamilton to Disney+, provided music for Moana, Encanto, and Mufasa, voiced Gizmoduck in the “DuckTales” reboot, and also portrayed our favorite chimney sweep in Mary Poppins Returns. There is no better musical mentor for Disney night!
American Idol: Disney Nights

Many Disney fans may not follow along with American Idol, but will tune in for “Disney Night.” This year, we are in for a treat because “Disney Night” is actually “Disney Nights” this year.
American Idol can be seen filming this week at Disneyland.
On Sunday night, May 11th, hear the Top 7 sing our favorite Disney classics from Disneyland. Then, after 2 contestants are eliminated, the Top 5 will perform on Monday, May 12th. This time, enjoy songs featuring our favorite Heroes and Villains in this 2nd “Disney Night.”
