Many guests visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom, may notice that one themed land seems to be extinct. Dinoland USA has needed some work particularly after Disney closed and removed the Primeval Whirl attraction.

This park needs a facelift and we were encouraged when Disney announced a change coming to “It’s Tough to Be a Bug”. This will receive a reimagining with a new Zootopia show.

Just a few weeks ago, a new permit was filed at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This project would include a huge space near the current Dinoland location. Read more about this HERE.

Back in September 2023, Disney announced that Dinoland U.S.A. would be reimagined to focus that could focus on tropical Americas – the Northern Part of South America and Central America. Disney included that this was merely a possibility.

At that time they dropped the hint that this new land could include favorite characters and scenes from Encanto and Indiana Jones.

Today, Disney finally confirmed that Dinoland U.S.A. will be rethemed as the Tropical Americas. This is a great confirmation.

Disney Imagineering even shares a first look at what they have been working on:

This is such a great glimpse “behind the curtain” of these 3 new models to inspire this new land.
