After much hinting, we now have confirmation for the work to take place at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and it’s BIG! What do you think of this expansion?
Animal Kingdom Expansion
Many guests visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom, may notice that one themed land seems to be extinct. Dinoland USA has needed some work particularly after Disney closed and removed the Primeval Whirl attraction.
This park needs a facelift and we were encouraged when Disney announced a change coming to “It’s Tough to Be a Bug”. This will receive a reimagining with a new Zootopia show.
Just a few weeks ago, a new permit was filed at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This project would include a huge space near the current Dinoland location. Read more about this HERE.
New Land Confirmed
Back in September 2023, Disney announced that Dinoland U.S.A. would be reimagined to focus that could focus on tropical Americas – the Northern Part of South America and Central America. Disney included that this was merely a possibility.
At that time they dropped the hint that this new land could include favorite characters and scenes from Encanto and Indiana Jones.
Today, Disney finally confirmed that Dinoland U.S.A. will be rethemed as the Tropical Americas. This is a great confirmation.
Future Plans
Disney Imagineers have been hard at work although their research has been a bit hush, hush until now. Imagineers traveled to many great destinations for inspiration for this new land such as the Yucatán Peninsula. This is just one of the many locations they have visited to draw inspiration for Tropical Americas,
Disney now confirms Dinoland USA will be replaced with Tropical Americas.
