It's Tough to Be a Bug show will be cut from Disney World
Disney shared a slew of new projects and announcements this morning. One of those projects actually has bigger consequences than we originally thought.
Zootopia at Animal Kingdom

Last year, Disney toyed with the idea of bringing Zootopia to Animal Kingdom where DinoLand currently resides. If you haven't been able to catch up, an entire Zootopia Land will be opening at Shanghai Disney Resort. You can read all about the attractions, characters, and dining HERE.
Many thought this area would be replicated into DinoLand along with a possible Moana theme. However, Susan reported HERE that Indiana Jones and Encanto will actually take over DinoLand.

So, where does that leave Zootopia? Well, Disney also shared this morning that Zootopia will head to the center of Animal Kingdom at the Tree of Life! The current concept for the new "Zootopia" experience has guests visiting the different biomes you only glimpse in the film, traveling along with Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde and other characters.
Imagineers are currently finalizing the concept and more details will be coming in the future.
It's Tough to be a Bug

The Zootopia show will actually REPLACE It's Tough to be a Big in the Tree of Life Theater. We (along with most of social media it appears) originally thought the Zootopia show would be a projection show on Tree of Life.
After combing back through the presentation, we actually noticed that It's Tough to be a Bug will be gone forever in order to make way for the new show. The show can be terrifying for young children with lots of sights, sounds, and feels. We imagine this show will be much more tame as it caters to a smaller audience.

So far, we have no idea when It's Tough to be a Bug will close or when work will begin for the new Zootopia show. We will keep you posted, as always!
What do you think of It's Tough to be a Bug closing? Are you happy Zootopia will replace it? Let us know in the comments below and share this post with a friend so they don't miss out on the news!

Don’t replace it. So sad!!!
I’m very disappointed , I loved its tough to be a bug , As a person who is of older generation , 1 of shows I looked forwArd to , don’t know much about zootopia
WRONG! I guess Disney does not listen to its own message. Find a different spot for Zootopia.
My family loved this show. Sad to see it go! Create new rides and shows in new areas and leave our fan faves alone!
A terrible loss IMO. This show was loved by my whole family. Even after repeat views we just liked to go again to enjoy the audience reactions.
I don't understand this desire to change a fun, educational show like It's Tough to Be a Bug. It is sad Disney seems to be moving toward a movie only based entertainment venue. Why change a great thing? Surely Animal Kingdom is a large enough park to add Zootppia if it is a needed addition. Keep It's Tough to Be a Bug.
I love It's tough to be a Bug. I'm not a fan of Zootopia. I'm old school with a very smidge of the new stuff. They don't need to just shove all this new crap and do away with all the old stuff. If it weren't for the originals you wouldn't have a lot of this new stuff. Parents are the ones that bring the kids and if you don't have things that make them happy they want bring the kids.
I'm a Disney fan from way back and my kids were brought up with old and new.
My family enjoys the 4D attractions at even the youngest age. The surprise of sprays or bug movements, smells were always a fun experience.
I think it is a very bad idea. It’s tough to be a big is not only fun but educational about bugs. It isn’t just about social issues. Sad as it’s a family tradition and one that will be missed.
SO sorry to hear this! Bug is a classic. It would be like closing Spaceship Earth and Carousel of Progress…ALL very important parts of WDW
Tough to be a bug is one of my favorites. This news makes me so sad!
I'm sad to see another charming attraction go...always a favorite with my family.
I'm 46 and I'm super sad to see this go! Such a fun show
It's tough to be a bug is very cute. Hate to see it go.
VERY disappointed! It was a family favorite for many years. Even the little ones thought it was fun!
I will miss it! My kids loved it from when they were 7 or 8. Never really scared! Glad we stopped in on our way out last February.
But looking forward to something new.
I enjoyed the It’s Tough to be a Bug! and so did my young son. It will be missed.
