Two months ago, Walt Disney World celebrated the arrival of a very special baby elephant! Baby Corra’s birth made Disney Parks history. She is Disney’s very first second-generation elephant to be born in the parks. Her mother Nadirah was also born in Disney World. You can read more about her birth HERE.

Not only does the news delight fans of the animal kingdom, but it is also great news for the world! Disney’s conservation efforts have brought numerous baby animals into the world from an array of endangered and threatened species.

These births are part of an initiative called the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Species Survival Plan. And Disney has successfully contributed to the species through two generations of elephants.

Corra and Nadirah have been spending critical time bonding behind the scenes. But, now that Corra is two months old, it is time for a very special milestone. Today, Corra appeared in her permanent home in Disney’s Animal Kingdom with her mother and Disney’s herd of elephants.

And, now you can see her for yourself! Corra and the other elephants will be enjoying the savanna on Kilimanjaro Safaris in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. If you are lucky, you may just spot the pair during your safari! Have your camera ready. The elephants are often active and ready for Guests to visit on their safari jeeps.

Just remember that Kilimanjaro Safaris operates on its own set of hours. Its opening and closing times do not align with park hours. You can see what we mean HERE. Be sure to check the ride’s operation times if you want a chance to see Corra.

And, if you don’t see her on your first ride, hop back on and try later. Every time you ride on Kilimanjaro Safaris, you are in for a different experience. You might even spot some of the other baby animals like Cricket and Dot, the young zebras.

And, if you visit Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail after your safari, you can see Elijah, the new baby Okapi! Or, you can see pictures of him HERE.
