Mandatory Evacuation at Disney's Wilderness Lodge
It has been a rough several weeks for Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Find out the reason for the evacuation for Boulder Ridge Villas at this resort.
Wilderness Lodge AC Outage

Starting on the afternoon of Thursday, June 18, 2026, Wilderness Lodge Guests shared on social media that the air conditioning was out in the dining locations, common areas, and even resort rooms.
This continued throughout Friday, June 19, 2026. Thankfully, emergency air conditioners were brought in to help cool down the resort some.
On June 24, 2026, Guests at Disney's Wilderness Lodge were notified that the air conditioning was temporarily unavailable starting at 7:00 am throughout the morning to help work on the system.
Boulder Ridge Water Outage

Thankfully, this maintenance worked and the air conditioning was restored throughout the entire resort. You can see how Disney compensated these Guests HERE. Unfortunately, a new problem now affects Guests.
The Wilderness Lodge has both DVC accommodations and Disney rooms. DVC sections include both Copper Creek and Boulder Ridge Villas.
Currently, Guests at Boulder Ridge Villas are being notified of a water outage.
How is Disney compensating Guests?

The water outage affected Guests of Boulder Ridge Villas yesterday, August 8, 2026, around 3:00 pm. Disney offered to transfer these Guests either to Disney's Old Key West, Disney's Saratoga Springs, and Disney's Contemporary Garden Wing.
Boulder Ridge Guests are now being moved to Disney Resorts with availability.
One Guest shared that Disney also provided a $300 Disney Gift Card because of this inconvenience. This is even affecting Guests that are due to check into Boulder Ridge tomorrow. They are now being notified of their new Resort reservation.

Things happen. Our experience with Disney, at WDW and on The Disney Cruise Line, is that their guest recovery program is quick and fair. They have usually taken care of us in a matter that left us satisfied, and sometimes, wowed. Our only negative is one time at California Grill. I was served the last pour in a bottle of red wine when I ordered a glass of wine. I took a sip of the wine and got a huge mouthful of sediment. I spit it back in the glass and the server brought me a glass of water to rinse my mouth and offered a different glass of wine. I went to the men's room, and rinsed and gargled for 5 minutes, and could not believe that they didn't offer the new wine, no charge. Their response was anti-Disney, and anti-Guest. I can't believe the wad of sediment was not noticed when the wine was poured. We have not returned to California Grill.
