Disney World Warnings
Walt Disney World issues many warnings throughout the year to help keep Guests and Cast Members safe.
With a Theme Park located in Central Florida, most often the warnings we think of first are regarding hurricanes and tropical storms.

Travel Advisory
A third concern also affects a Florida Theme Park, and that is extreme heat. Many guests are well aware that the summers at Walt Disney World can be hot. This may be why summer is the cheapest time to visit Walt Disney World.
Today, August 11, 2026, the National Weather Service issued a Heat Advisory for all East Central Florida counties, which includes the Walt Disney World Resort. This begins at 11:00 am and ends at 8:00 pm.
Dangerous heat is expected starting today and will continue throughout the week. The heat index will reach 110°. While it is not surprising that Florida is hot in August, this current weather pattern is intensified by high humidity.
The National Weather Service predicts that these weather patterns will continue through Friday due to a drier air mass limiting rain chances throughout the week.
The good news is that you may escape Florida rain showers; however, the bad news that due to the intense heat, you may wish for an unexpected shower.
