Executives Leaving

Since the surprising exit of former Disney CEO, Bob Chapek, back in November 2022, there have been many changes at the Walt Disney Company. Many high executives soon left the company including Kareem Daniel, executive Arthur Bochner, and Heather Hust Rivera.

These were minor compared to the HUGE news that Disney Chief Financial Officer Christine McCarthy will take a medical leave of absence. You can check out more details about her departure HERE.

McCarthy will step down at the end of this month and Kevin Lansberry, EVP and CFO of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products will serve as interim, effective July 1. A thorough search internally and externally will be conducted to find a permanent replacement.

Big Changes for Walt Disney World

This move now means big changes are on the way for Walt Disney World as many Disney executives assume new positions in the company.

Melissa Valiquiette currently serves as the Vice President of the Magic Kingdom. She will now become Vice President, Industrial Engineering & Park Operations.

This new vacancy at the Magic Kingdom will be filled by Sarah Riles. Riles currently works as Vice President of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Her position will now be filled by Maryann Smith. Smith currently serves as Vice President of Water Parks.

Finally, Faron Kelly will become the new Vice President of Water Parks and oversee the mini golf course operations. Kelly has served at ESPN Wide World of Sports.

Vice President changes will soon take place at Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and the Disney water parks.

This big shuffle will impact much of Walt Disney World.

Just coming back from 10 days at WDW. There needs to be some serious changes. The place is a mess. Too many price increases with waaaay less customer serviceand perks. If things don't change I'm done. Been a dvc member since 1999 and an annual passholder for 15 yrs. And crowds are down. It's a shame. Disney used to be a fun vacation. Too many hoops to jump through now. Nice going Chapek and Iger. Need Eisner back evidently.
