Mickey Waffles
The Mickey Waffle is one of Disney’s most iconic foods. They have their own fan following. In fact, some people simply cannot fathom visiting a Disney resort without starting at least one morning with the beloved Mickey-Shaped breakfast item. There is just something undeniably delicious and delightful about them.
Many visitors love them so much that they try to recreate the magic at home using Mickey waffle irons. Some have even figured out how to find the Golden Malt waffle mix that makes the Disney difference.
Even better, some Disney dining locations offer Minnie Waffles, too! But, if you love the original, get excited because now there is a way to enjoy them for FREE on your next Walt Disney World vacation.
FREE MICKEY WAFFLES
Right now one official Walt Disney World hotel offers guests a chance to enjoy FREE Mickey Waffles at breakfast every day of their stay! Actually, breakfast, soft drink refills, snacks, and “kickback” dinner meals and drinks are all free at this gem of a resort. It is ALMOST all-inclusive.
Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando Disney Springs Area is a new Disney Hotel that opened a few months ago after several opening date delays. Like the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin and the new Walt Disney World Swan Reserve, the Drury Plaza is not managed by Disney, yet it is an official Walt Disney World Disney Hotel!
This means that guests receive many of the same benefits available at hotels that are part of The Disney Resorts Collection including complimentary shuttle transportation to the theme parks and Early Entry.
Our own Kenny the Pirate enjoyed a stay at the Drury and noticed something new had been added to the breakfast buffet. Now, there are create-your-own Mickey Waffle makers at both ends of the bar. You can choose between jumbo Mickey Waffles or classic miniature Mickey waffles! There are plenty of toppings to dress them up with.
Earlier this year, I stayed at the Drury, and Mickey Waffles were not an option. In fact, my family and I even remarked that if the place had Mickey Waffles, it would be just about perfect! We are so excited to know that breakfast at this wonderful hotel just got a little more magical!
The buffet offers a variety of other rotating options including sausage, pancakes, fruit, cereal, oatmeal, and pastries. It is a great way to start the day and is also a wonderful money-saving option if your family likes to enjoy breakfast in a restaurant before hitting the parks.
