Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
This new family-thrill coaster matches the fun and thrill of the blockbuster “Guardians of the Galaxy” films. It features our favorite cosmic outlaws: Rocket, Groot, Drax, Gamora, and Star-Lord (a.k.a. Peter Quill). The one-of-a-kind attraction is another milestone in the ongoing transformation of EPCOT.

New Element Added
Cosmic Rewind is an attraction like none other. It offers thrills, and amazing music, but is also family-friendly to allow even young guardians can still help save the galaxy. Disney is known for their attention to detail, and many guests were quite surprised that a big detail was left unnoticed when Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind first welcomed guests.
Previously, when guests were spun around for the reverse launch, they could see the parts of the actual building. Although this moment is brief, it tends to detract from the overall experience of this attraction.
Disney has now added a new element to help keep up with the theme of this attraction. They have added a new brighter flash on the screen to help make the room appear darker and hide the building.
Disney employed this same technique at the beginning of Flight of Passage at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. A fairly simple solution, but it seems to give an even better experience. Check out the before and after videos from Cosmic Rewind shared by Scott Gustin below:
This really does appear to make a significant difference in the overall theme of this attraction. We can’t wait to check it out during our next trip to EPCOT.
