Have you wondered about the once promised Mary Poppins attraction? We have good news that may have you stepping right onto Cherry Tree Lane in the future.
At the last D23 event in September 2019, Disney announced a ton of projects for Epcot. This ultimately led to a complete overhaul of the park.
We have seen several of those projects completed like the addition of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Space 220, the reimagining of Mouse Gears (into Creations Shop) and Club Cool, and the overhaul of the park’s entrance.
We have recently shared the reopening timeline for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. The newest eatery, Connections Cafe, also opens this Spring. This is amazing news for EPCOT.
Still More to Come
The newly reimagined EPCOT will soon be completed in 2023. Check out this timeline HERE. Many Guests are still a bit sad that the once promised Mary Poppins attraction was no longer included in this reimagining of EPCOT.
Unfortunately due to Park closures, both the re-imagineering of Spaceship Earth and the addition of Mary Poppins to the World Showcase were cut in 2020. Read all about this HERE.
During a shareholder meeting today, Disney CEO Bob Chapek was asked about the park projects that the company has been “quiet” about. Chapek addressed the Mary Poppins project that was put on hold due to the pandemic and Park closures.
Chapek admitted in this Question and Answer portion that he hopes this project will be funded in the future.
