Walt Disney World started the 50th Anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World on October 1, 2021. From the illuminated displays on all 4 Theme Park icons to the 50 golden character sculptures throughout each of the four theme parks, there is so much to enjoy at this magical celebration.

Our favorite characters will be decked out in new EAR-idescent costumes. Not to be left out, Disney Springs has plenty of offerings of its own.

Magic Kingdom debuted a new cavalcade to commemorate the 50th. There is also a brand new 50th welcome show. And of course, Disney’s Enchantment lights up the sky. You can check out the brand new Walt scenes that have been added recently for an enchanting upgrade to the show right here.

In true Disney fashion, there are there plenty of 50th anniversary snacks to eat everywhere you turn. From 50th touches to classic Disney dishes to brand-new oddities, Disney has something for every set of tastebuds. And, of course, there is plenty of merchandise to commemorate your 50th Anniversary visit as well.

An End Date

Disney promised park visitors 18 months of celebration, and while we have always known the party would come to an end in the spring of 2023, we now have the official end date. Disney has posted that the last day for celebrating Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary is March 31, 2023.

This means that if you want to partake in the festivities, you will need to plan your trip dates accordingly. Hopefully, you will get to visit if you have been unable to go.

So far, there are no details as to what will change after the 50th ends. Perhaps the characters will return to their regular outfits. Something else may replace the 50th Cavalcade. Perhaps we will find a good deal less EAR-idescent glitter dusting our snacks. We may see the Castle shift back to its normal look.

Many fans have their fingers crossed hoping that the return of Happily Ever After is in the cards. We will have the details for you if and when any of them unfold.

Have you had a chance to visit during the 50th Anniversary Celebration? Are you planning to head to Disney before it ends? Let us know in the comments, or you can also join our friendly crew to continue the conversation on Facebook.

What celebration???? All they keep doing is raising prices, adding more restrictions andchanging the rules and making it harder for you to enjoy yourself.

I love the gold details, but I definintley wouldn't be sad to see the original simplistic beauty return.

We were there in June of 2022. Took our granddaughters (10 and 14 year olds) for their first trip there and they still talk about it. I was at the 25th and wanted to go to the 50th, so satisfied everyone. Enjoyed it alot. Sorry to see it go, but everything comes to an end eventually. Wish I would be here for the 75th, but will be too old or possibly gone. Keep going strong Disney.

Well I knew it started and I knew it would end. It has been my honor to say I was there to see it and be apart of this fabulous 50th Anniversary Celebration. And you would have to be on another planet, to not know it had started. It's been all over the TV and We are notified constantly about changes and up dates. It has been fabulous! Thank you Walt Disney World !

Didn’t know it had started let alone finished ! Clearly not the most memorable of celebrations.
