Animal Kingdom Quietly Reveals This Reopening Timeline

Multiple Locations Set to Close Soon at Disney's Animal Kingdom

Soon, even more locations will be closing at Disney's Animal Kingdom. With so many closures, we are starting to wonder if Animal Kingdom is doing ok!

DinoLand is about to become extinct at Disney's Animal Kingdom. An entirely new land is on the way. It is set to be themed around Tropical Americas! We can't wait to see Welcome to Pueblo Esperanza!

This past January,  TriceraTop Spin was the first ride to close. Fossil Fun and Games and Chester & Hester's Dinosaur Treasures will close. Get full dates and details HERE.

Many times, following Walt Disney World permits will give us a sneak peek into which attractions will be closing soon. Recently, several new permits were filed for Disney's Animal Kingdom that have us a bit concerned.

New Animal Kingdom Permits

The first permit is for Trilo-Bites. This snack kiosk is currently open to guests, so this permit has us curious how much longer this snack stand may be open.

Secondly, there is a permit for the Wilderness Explorer kiosk. This is one of my (Donna) kids' favorite activities while at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Hopefully, this kiosk will remain open, but possibly with a new address.

Moving to the next permit, which is filed for The Boneyard. We hoped this fun fossil dig site would remain open until 2026 with the DINOSAUR attraction, but Disney shared that it will close on September 2, 2025. Even with this new permit, the closing timeline remains the same for this attraction.

Lastly, a new permit is filed for Restaurantosaurus for "electrical work". This may not indicate that this location will be closing, but it may have a little work done when the summer crowds leave. While we are not huge fans of the food offered at this Restarauntosaurus, we do love the fun character meet and greets offered at this location.

Currently, guests can enjoy "Daisy Dig" for "Cool Kid Summer" at Restarauntosaurus, and last year Santa even hung out at this location. We are hopeful that this location will stay open at least into 2026 for these fun offerings.
